Tom Henderson, Senior Maintenance Technician, was named Staff Member of the Year in December 2009. Tom’s main responsibility is to maintain plumbing and HVAC units campus-wide, but he also jumps into other projects as needed.
Tom has served at PBU since 1998. He holds certifications from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and Orleans Technical Institute. He is also pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible from PBU.
“Tom’s willing spirit can be seen when he changes his regular work hours to make repairs in the middle of the night, on a holiday, or weekend because he understands the disruption to building occupants that the work would cause were it to be done during a normal weekday shift,” his department Director wrote in his nomination. “Tom’s work has been key in supporting and developing the skills of Maintenance Services staff members who know that they can rely on Tom for needed support and have increased their own skills and independence through Tom’s tutelage.”
