Cairn University hosted its first annual Biblical Integration Conference on June 16–18, equipping Christian school teachers and administrators to foster the practice of discipleship in their schools and classrooms.

Among the presenters were Dr. Paula Gossard, professor of natural sciences and acting dean of the School of Education, Dr. Jonathan Master ’98, dean of the School of Divinity and director of the Center for University Studies, Dr. Marti MacCullough ’62, distinguished professor emeritus in the School of Education, and Christopher J. Palladino ’94, assistant professor of history, humanities, and social science in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The conference attracted over 90 participants from 16 states and South Korea. Teachers; deans; department heads; pastors; presidents, superintendents, and directors in various leadership roles; and teacher education professionals benefitted from general sessions, keynote addresses, and dual-track sessions addressing special concerns of teachers and of administrators.

The Biblical Integration Conference was organized by Paul Neal, seniors vice president for marketing and enrollment at Cairn and senior fellow at the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE).

The conference was organized by Paul Neal, senior vice president for marketing and enrollment at Cairn and senior fellow at the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE), which sponsored the event.

“Cairn is committed to the belief that Christian schools have the possibility to be places where biblical integration makes education better than what is available elsewhere. I was excited to welcome Christian school leaders, both teachers and administrators, to our campus for three days of leadership, dialogue, and professional development on a subject so ripe for serious consideration,” said Neal.

Throughout the three days, educators networked, conversed with, and learned from leaders in Christian education, teacher education, and those influencing the cultures of Christian schools today. In addition to Cairn faculty from the School of Education, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Divinity, and Center for University Studies, speakers included executive editor of Christianity Today, Andy Crouch, and director of the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education, Tim Van Soelen.
